Reminder: Check Out The Fireballs In The Sky

The Perseid Meteor Shower is peaking over the next few days, and our local National Forest can offer some surprisingly light-pollution-free areas for stargazing.

I, myself, will be heading up to an undisclosed location on the northern side sometime late Sunday evening, as I’ve never actually seen a meteor shower before. Earth Sky describes the Perseids as “an especially rich and dependable meteor shower. They shoot all across the sky – often leaving persistent trains – and occasionally lighting things up with bright fireballs.”

Sounds pretty great to me.

Non-Obnoxious Clothing

Maybe it’s my sensible New England roots, but I’ve always thought the louder you get about something, the more counterproductive your yelling becomes. Having a good conversation with a small handful of people is ultimately more effective than standing on the street corner and holding up a three-word catchphrase summary of your argument.

So what happens when you’re headed out of the apartment and want to slip into a stylish shirt that displays your values? Leave behind the Life is Good jersey and check out Threadless instead.

I’ll admit I didn’t get into the site until recently, but have managed to skim a few very comfortable, subtly environmental t-shirts from their catalog over the past few weeks. They don’t do reprints often, so if something catches your eye, you’d better grab it fast.

‘Cause you can’t really wear your form-fitting, moisture-wicking North Face base layer to the office.
