I just found out I’ll be joining the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter Backpacking Section on a 3-day trip to Havasupai Canyon in mid-March.
With a potential 32 miles of hiking and swimming in 70 degree water in the Grand Canyon, I am very, very excited.
Can’t wait to give a report. Any tips from folks who’ve headed out before?

I’m ridiculously jealous. Havasupai is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. I can’t comment on hiking in, because I visited while on a rafting trip down the Grand Canyon and actually hiked UP from the Colorado. Obviously, drink a lot of water — the canyon is deceptively dry! And just enjoy the scenery! Man… you’re reminding me how badly I need to go back to the Canyon!
ModernHiker - that’s awesome! I hope to go there someday! Have fun, and I’ll be on the lookout for your posting!
