I enjoy your website/blog.  we hiked up from the PCH side - there's a parking lot across from the Navy firing range, just as Route 1 heads south and the park starts on the left.  on Google Earth there's an image labeled "chumash trail" with a shot from the hill looking west.  it's pretty steep at the beginning, but levels off, and provides a great view.  the sign in the parking lot says it's 1.2 miles up, but it felt further.  there were only 8 or so other hikers on the trail, and it was an amazingly clear crisp day.</description>
