Beautiful Places in HD

by Modern Hiker on July 15, 2009

I don’t know how I missed this for so long – nor do I remember how I stumbled across it – but I sure am glad I finally found “Beautiful Places in HD with Tony Farley.”

The short podcast episodes are pretty self explanatory – high-definition video of some of the world’s most beautiful places, most of which just happen to be here in the West.

I was pulled in by the footage of Yosemite National Park’s Mist Trail – a clothes-drenching climb alongside a roaring waterfall that’s an absolute must-do for anyone visiting the park … even if the trail can be a bit crowded, especially during the summer.

Once you get past a the slightly Deep Thoughts voice-over and Pure Moods soundtrack, the scenery really speaks for itself. It’s a great way to take a quick nature break while at work or otherwise stuck at a desk, and the podcast is also available for free on iTunes, so you can take these places with you anywhere you go!

Here’s the Mist Trail video. Be sure to click through to their site for more

There is definitely a lady with some sort of tropical bird, just hangin’ out in Yosemite.

Also, there are some kids who are WAY too close to the waterfall in one of the shots.

Thanks for this link, great site and great quality video. The Mist video is beautiful and I also enjoyed the one on Yosemite’s Mt. Dana, which I’ve climbed several times. Hope he expands the collection.
