If you’re at all interested in learning more about joining an expedition to Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, you’ll want to head to your local Adventure 16 this week.
The local chain will be hosting slideshow presentations by Kurt Wedberg, the founder of Sierra Mountaineering International and a veteran climb leader on Kilimanjaro. Each presentation begins at 7PM, and is preceded by a “Happy Hour.” Audience members will also get a coupon for $20 off a purchase of $100 or more of Icebreaker gear.

Kurt is an old friend of mine and took me on my first backpacking trip and a winter summit attempt of Mt. Baldy one February (fell short 1,000′ due to high winds though). I can heartily recommend this show–Kurt Wedberg is a very entertaining speaker and is a professional mountaineer that leads climbing expeditions all over the world.
