If you want your next Netflix movie to teach you about an environmentalist legend and feature some incredible archival footage of the American West from the 30’s, you’ll be happy to know that the 2005 documentary Monumental: David Brower’s Fight for Wild America
has just been added to is on Instant Netflix.
Brower was a leading mountaineer of his time who went on to become one of the most important figures in the environmental movement, helping to found several organizations like the Sierra Club and the League of Conservation Voters. This documentary follows Brower’s life as he fought to help pass the 1964 Wilderness Act and save the Grand Canyon from industrial mining.

He has also been featured on Good Morning America, NPR, and the Associated Press, as well as in documentaries for Columbia Sportswear and the OTIS College of Art and Design.
Casey was one of eight people chosen by the National Parks Foundation to participate in the 2015 Find Your Park Expedition. His first book "Day Hiking Los Angeles," will be published by Mountaineers Books in 2016.
